H2O Internship Program

The Gospel is advanced to the ends of the Earth through the local church.  It is within this context, the local church, that the next-generation of Kingdom disciples are to be trained, equipped, developed and eventually sent out.  The H2O Internship Program is designed to be an environment for students and recent graduates to grow as disciples of Christ while serving God’s Kingdom at The Ohio State University.

The H2O Internship Program emphasizes theological study, missional engagement, and mentorship from experienced H2O staff. There are two ways that an individual can be a part of this program:

  • 20 Hour Internship: This is designed primarily for students going into their junior or senior year to have more time to focus on living out the Great Commission and Great Commandments while in college. Students would take classes at Ohio State as they normally would in addition to working 20 hours per week as an H2O intern for 9-12 months.
  • 40 Hour Internship: This is designed primarily for students who are graduating to provide opportunities for them to serve the kingdom of God on Ohio State’s campus after graduation, whether they pursue vocational ministry or otherwise. 40 hour interns would work full-time as an H2O intern for 9-12 months.

Learning about and meditating on God’s character and Word grows us as disciples of Jesus. Interns will have the opportunity to engage in theological study through online classes about theology and the Bible. Discussion and reflection on these classes will be facilitated by an H2O staff member.

Being immersed in missional living is a central element of the Internship Program. Building relationships, sharing the Gospel, and Christ-centered discipleship will be a key aspect of the training experience. Interns will also have regular trainings where they learn how to live out their faith in their job and beyond.

Regular accountability and input can help people to adjust to new jobs and be faithful as disciples of Jesus. Interns will be mentored by current campus missionaries with an emphasis on growing in Christ-like character and ministry skills.
